Adjustment and Appeals Board
This board meets to hear appeals regarding decisions made by the Building Inspector and any appeals regarding the electrical code.
Meetings: Meets on an as-needed basis.
Appointment: Four years
There are three upcoming vacancies on this board. The Board of Supervisors is looking for applicants with experience in the property management field or an occupational or professional field relating to the construction industry. Applications will be taken until the vacancies are filled.

Community Services Board (NRV)
Sets policies and administers mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse programs in the area. Reviews finances of mental health/mental retardation agencies.
Meetings: Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Appointment: Three years with a 3-term limit.
There is one vacancy on this board. Applications are available for public review in the County Administrator's Office. Applications will be taken until the vacancy is filled.

Library Board
Administers and establishes policies for the operation of the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library.
Meetings: Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Appointment: Four years with a 2-term limit.
There is one vacancy on this board. The Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants from Districts A, C, D, E, F, and G. Applications will be taken until the vacancy is filled.

New River Valley Regional Commission
The New River Valley Regional Commission is responsible for administering a comprehensive region-wide plan for growth and development. Members establish policy and delegate duties to staff members through an Executive Director.
Meetings: Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the New River Valley Business Center, Fairlawn.
Appointment: Three years with a 2-term limit.

Social Services Board
An administrative board that works cooperatively with the State Board providing financial assistance programs to individuals and otherwise assists and protects individuals who are unable to care for themselves.
Meetings: Meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 9:00 a.m. at the Health and Human Services Building in Christiansburg.
Appointment: Four years.
