Montgomery County Code

County building regulations are in chapter 8 of the county code.

State Code

Montgomery County, along with all other localities in the state, use the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), which the Virginia Board of Housing and Community Development produces. It is based on the International Code Council (ICC) and the National Fire Prevention Association model codes. It is updated on a three-year cycle along with each of the model codes.
