(Agent: Westwood Professional Services) to amend an existing Special Use Permit, which was originally approved on October 26, 1976, allowing a 12-site campground for camper trailers; and first amended on August 3, 1987, allowing development of the site as depicted on a site plan prepared by Dickson and Associates; by allowing the expansion of its existing use as a Campground by adding (1) three new cabins to be constructed in the area across from the Willie Jack Cabin and staff house, (2) a multipurpose building to be constructed in the general area of the existing Cedar View and Mountain View cabins, (3) Yurts to be erected in the general area of “the Hut” and the archery facility; all as depicted on the Camp Alta Mons Master Plan dated August 3, 2026. The subject property is located at 2842 Crockett Springs Road, at the intersection of Crocket Springs Road and Alleghany Spring Road (State Route 637), and approximately 0.9 miles southeast of the intersection of Fishers View Road. The property is further identified as Tax Parcels 111-A 48D, 111-A 47, 111-A 47A (Parcel IDs 071198, 003055, 020539 ) totaling approximately 770 acres, zoned Agricultural (A-1), in the Shawsville Magisterial District. The property currently lies in an area designated as Outdoor and Natural Preservation Areas in the Montgomery Matters Comprehensive Plan. |
