Mid County Park

Mid County Park is centrally located on 89 acres between the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg, and is home to the Frog Pond Swimming Pool, the Mid-County Activity Center, and the Golden Hills Disc Golf Course. Additional amenities include an outdoor basketball court, nature trails, playground, three picnic shelters, grills, and restrooms.

Cool off at Montgomery County's only outdoor leisure pool! The Frog Pond Swimming Pool season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Features include beach entry, water slides, fountains, geysers, and a children's pool. Reservations are also available on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the season.

The Mid County Activity Center is the headquarters of our annual Frog Hoppers Summer Camp. We also hold active adult programs and monthly Bob Ross painting classes here.

The Golden Hills Disc Golf Course is located at Mid-County Park and consists of wooded fairways with challenging elevation changes. The course is one of only 19 in the United States with 37 holes. A picnic shelter is available by the course parking lot.

The nature trail winds through the 89 acre park, passing wooded areas and streams. Look closely for the wide variety of plants, fungi, and wildlife, and don't forget to check the trails for animal tracks! Look for the trailhead to the right of the Frog Pond Swimming Pool, and view the Mid County Nature Trail Map.

Play a game of basketball on our outdoor court conveniently located next to the playground, picnic shelters, and restrooms.

The playground at Mid County Park features a large cargo rope net climbing structure, slide, climbing wall features, swinging hammock, and balancing merry-go-round. The playground is conveniently located next to the picnic shelters and outdoor basketball court. An ADA accessible path leads to the playground.

Get together for a picnic or party under our shelters! At Mid County Park we have two large picnic shelters next to the Frog Pond Pool, and a third smaller shelter at the disc golf course. An ADA accessible path leads from the parking lot to Shelter #1, Shelter #2, the restrooms, and the playground.
