Yes, each volunteer is covered by the Montgomery County accident coverage policy while
participating in community service.
How does someone become a volunteer for Volunteer Montgomery?
Any Montgomery County resident may complete a volunteer enrollment application. Minors (under 18 years of age) must have a parent/guardian accompany them on all Volunteer Montgomery activities. Parent/guardian must also complete a volunteer enrollment application. All volunteers must be willing to serve without compensation.
Are there volunteer jobs available to individuals who are physically limited/disabled/homebound? Yes, on a limited basis, there are mailings and phoning that can be done.
Are there a specific number of hours that are required of Volunteer Montgomery volunteers?
No, Volunteer Montgomery does not require volunteers to work a specific number of hours; however,
a volunteer who is inactive for more than twelve (12) months may be removed from the roll.
