Mission statement

Voter Registration is committed to providing citizens with the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Code of Virginia. View the Standards of Conduct for Election Officials and the Principles of Elections and Registration Officials.

The General Registrar of Elections registers voters, maintains voting records and establishes precinct boundaries and polling locations for the County's 25 precincts. The staff conducts elections, supervises poll workers on Election Day and tallies election results. Any U.S. citizen and Virginia resident, 18 years or older on Election Day, may vote.

    9/21/2018 - Absentee Voting for the General Election Begins September 21, 2018

    Deadline to Apply for Mailed Absentee Applications is October 30

    Absentee voting for the November 6 General Election starts statewide today, Friday, September 21. Qualified Virginia voters may vote absentee in-person at their local voter registration office or vote absentee by mail. To vote absentee, registered voters must meet one of the 20 eligibility requirements listed on the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application.
