Sabrina Porter Receives Unsung Hero Award

Porter was one of eight award recipients at the fifth annual Unsung Heroes Award Ceremony.


Sabrina Porter Receives Attorney General's Unsung Hero AwardRecently, the Commonwealth of Virginia's Attorney General Jason Miyares recognized Montgomery County's Victim-Witness Coordinator, Sabrina Porter, as an unsung hero for her efforts to advocate for and serve victims and their families. 

Porter was one of eight award recipients at the fifth annual Unsung Heroes Award Ceremony.  

“I am thrilled to announce that Sabrina Porter, Montgomery County’s Victim-Witness Coordinator, has been named one of the Attorney General’s Unsung Heroes during National Victim’s Rights Awareness Week," said Commonwealth of Virginia's Attorney General, Jason Miyares.

"Over the past 16 years, Ms. Porter has advocated on behalf of countless victims including those impacted by the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007 and the New River Community College shooting in 2013. Virginia is a better place because of her and I am so grateful for her work,” said Miyares. 

A recognition ceremony was held in Richmond on April 26, 2022.
