Plan Review Process
Submittal
Applicants should provide the following requested materials at time of submittal:
- One (1) paper copy of any E&S documentation
- Departmental applications and checklists (as required)
- One (1) complete digital submittal of site plan and all supporting documentation
- Fees (Individual checks per department)
Staff will notify the applicant if / when paper copies of the site plan are needed.
Digital submittals can be emailed to mcplan@montgomerycountyva.gov.
Paper submittals should be delivered to the Planning & GIS Services Department at 755 Roanoke Street, Suite 2A, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
Montgomery County has a thirty (30) day review policy. Comments will be compiled and sent to the applicant within thirty (30) days of receiving a complete submittal set. Note: failure to include any required piece will delay the review of the application.
Once the Montgomery County Plan Review Team returns comments to the applicant, applicants will have a chance to attend an upcoming Plan Review meeting to discuss comments with reviewers. Plan Review Meetings are held bi-weekly. Contact the Development Review Coordinator at 540-394-2148 to be scheduled for an upcoming meeting.
