Montgomery County’s advertised budget totals $182.1 million, a $5.9 million increase over the FY16 budget
Montgomery County’s advertised FY2017 budget focuses on issues important for future success: public safety, public schools, facilities and programs, and employees.
The FY17 spending plan of $182.1 million represents a 3.3% increase over the current fiscal year. Of the $5.9 million increase in next fiscal year’s budget, $1.3 million in new County funding goes to the School Operating Fund.
The real estate tax rate will remain at 89 cents per $100 assessed value. Personal property taxes also will remain the same at $2.55.
A 3% regrade of employee compensation is recommended. Also, the advertised spending plan includes a $25 increase in stipends for the officers of election and $5,000 for the Children’s Trust.
