Volunteer Montgomery

Volunteer opportunities include assisting area non-profit organizations, visiting nursing homes, bake sales and specialized events throughout the year.

Volunteer time commitment is up to each individual and their availability. Volunteers must be willing to serve without compensation.  Minors (under 18 years of age) must have a parent/guardian accompany them on all Volunteer Montgomery activities. Parent/guardian must also complete a Volunteer Enrollment Application.

*We do not facilitate court-ordered community service at this time.

Reporting Hours

It has been brought to our attention lately that many of our volunteers don’t report all of your hours because you don’t want to boast or brag about the service you provide. Volunteer Montgomery thrives and EXISTS because of your service hours to our community! Please remember that we are generously funded by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors because of all of the reports we send about projects and hours that our volunteers provide each year. If you have any questions about how to report your hours each month, please contact a member of our team at volunteermontgomery@montgomerycountyva.gov! 

You can submit volunteer hours by mail, email or by visiting https://forms.montva.com/Forms/volunteer-hours. If you use this link, your volunteer time will be emailed to staff.

Volunteer Montgomery Evening Event

We are excited to bring back our most popular volunteer evening event! This month, we will be decorating (fake) pumpkins that will be given to local nursing home residents. If you would like to attend, please call the office at 540-382-5775 or email us at volunteermontogmery@montgomerycountyva.gov

All ages are welcome! All supplies will be supplied by Volunteer Montgomery.



Benefit Night at Sandro's

We will be collaborating with Sandro's Restaurant for a Benefit Night. Show this flyer, or mention "Volunteer Montgomery," and we will get 10% back! All proceeds raised will help us fund our Supplies for Seniors Project.

Annual Bake Sale

THANK YOU to everyone who bought from us at our Bake Sale on September 15. All proceeds support local nursing home residents, active military, veterans, & other community members in need! We also want to thank our wonderful volunteers for donating the baked goods for this event. We couldn't do it without the community's support.

Volunteer Montgomery received the 2025 Community Service Organization of the Year from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce! Thank you to our volunteers, partners, and groups that helped make this possible for us! 

Office Closures

• October 12, 2026: Our office will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of Memorial Day.

• November 3, 2026: Our office will be closed on Tuesday, November 3, in observance of Election Day.

• November 11, 2026: Our office will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

• November 24, 2026: Our office will be closing at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, in observance of Thanksgiving.

• November 25 & 26, 2026: Our office will be closed on Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26 in observance of Thanksgiving.
