Our Mission

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office exists for the purposes of safeguarding life, liberty, property and maintaining civil order. In order to serve these purposes, the Sheriff's Office will appoint the necessary personnel to provide for the enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and County of Montgomery Codes. Through its appointed personnel, the Office of the Sheriff will provide uniformed patrols, investigations of motor vehicle accidents, criminal investigations, civil process, corrections, courtroom security, and services to provide for the protection of life, liberty, and property as needed by the citizen’s of Montgomery County. The Office of the Sheriff and its appointees will at all times endeavor to provide these services in a courteous, professional manner that will preserve public confidence in our democratic process.
