GIS and Mapping Services

GIS and Mapping Services mission is to plan, create, organize, implement, and administer the County's geographic information systems (GIS) program. The overall goal is to coordinate, facilitate, and manage the use of GIS at departmental, office, enterprise and multi-jurisdictional scale. Direct activities include:

• GIS strategic enterprise planning
• Enterprise GIS management
• Creation, development, and maintenance of enterprise spatial data
• E911 Site address and street name maintenance
• Spatial data analysis and modeling
• End-user application training
• Custodian for VGIN and County aerial imagery
• Custodian for LiDAR Topography
• Development and maintenance of internal and external iGIS web-enabled applications
• Land Development Office (LDO) implementation and administration
• Fulfill general public requests for GIS and mapping services

GIS and Mapping Services directly support the Planning and GIS Service functional area missions. GIS and Mapping Services is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (540) 394-2148 or by emailing montmap@montgomerycountyva.gov.
