The New River Health District serves residents of the NRV through local health departments in Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski Counties and the City of Radford. Programs include anonymous HIV counseling and testing, BabyCare, Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening--Every Woman's Life (EWL), Care Connection for Children, communicable disease prevention and control, environmental health, family planning, GEMS (Girls Empowered to Meet Success), health education, immunizations for children and adults, international travel, maternity care, nursing home screenings, resource mothers, safety seat program, school health nursing, vital records and health statistics, well child care, and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
