Volunteers
Volunteers assist Extension Agents in the planning and implementation
of many educational programs. Volunteering is a way for individuals to
help others in the community, and to learn new skills that can foster personal
development. There are many opportunities for volunteers to help in Extension
educational programs. Some examples are listed here. To discover how you
can be a volunteer, contact the responsible person in each program area:
Agriculture & Natural Resources

The Master Gardener program offers training and volunteer service
opportunities for persons in the subject area of horticulture.
Training for volunteers is held each winter.
4-H Youth Development

The 4-H program offers youth development opportunities for youth from
ages 5 to 19. Adults may volunteer to lead 4-H clubs in their communities,
teach workshops, or assist with special events. Volunteer 4-H leaders are
provided opportunities to further develop their skills, knowledge, and
talents through local, district and state training programs. Contact

Family & Consumer Science

The Family & Consumer Science program offers opportunities for volunteers
to assist in workshops and other educational programs for families and
