Census 2010

2010 Census results

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years. Montgomery County's population grew to 94,392 residents in the 2010 count, up 10,763 residents or 12.9% from 2000.

How does the census help?

The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things such as hospitals, job training centers, schools, senior centers, bridges, tunnels, other public works projects and emergency services. The data collected by the census will also help determine the number of seats Virginia has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
