The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office safeguards life and property and maintains civil order.  The Sheriff's Office will work to appoint the necessary personnel to provide for the enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the County of Montgomery.  Through its appointed personnel, the Office of Sheriff will provide uniformed patrols, investigations of motor vehicle crashes, criminal investigations, civil process, corrections/courtroom security, and services to provide for the protection of life, liberty, and property of the citizens of Montgomery County.  The Office of Sheriff and its appointees will at all times endeavor to provide these services in a courteous, professional manner that will preserve public confidence in our democratic process.
