GIS and Mapping Services' mission is to plan, create, organize, implement and administer the County's geographic information systems (GIS) program. The overall goal is to coordinate, facilitate and manage the use of GIS at the departmental, office, enterprise and multi-jurisdictional levels. Direct activities include:

• GIS strategic enterprise planning and management
• Creation, development and maintenance of enterprise spatial data
• GIS support services for County departments, agencies and constitutional offices
• E911 site address and street name maintenance
• Spatial data analysis and modeling
• End-user application training
• Custodian for VGIN, County and pictometry aerial imagery
• Custodian for LiDAR Topography Contours
• Development and maintenance of internal and external iGIS web-enabled applications
• Land Development Office (LDO) implementation and administration
• Fulfilling general public requests for GIS, mapping and imagery services
