Passports that were issued to minors up to age 16 cannot be renewed.  **Minors must use the First Time Application to apply for a new passport.

• We are now in our busy season for passport requests.  If you are traveling in less than four weeks, you may want to expedite your services to avoid any delays in the processing of the application.

Renewals:

• ONLY Adult Passports can be renewed
• Passports can be renewed up to 5 years after expiration.
• You are NOT required to come to the Clerk’s Office for this service.  The Clerk’s office does not process this application; however, we will be happy to assist you with any information that you may need.  This application must be mailed directly by the applicant to the Passport office.

• If your name has changed since the issuance of your current passport, you must submit proof of name change (i.e. certified copy of marriage license, certified copy of court order, etc.)

Expedite Service (16 and older):

• The following are to be included in addition to the above requirements:
• All fees to the U.S. Department of State can be on the same check or money order.
• $60.00 (Expedite Fee) plus $110.00 to the U.S. Department of State
• Overnight postage; $12.72 to the U.S. Department of State. You will be required to mail your passport overnight at the time of application.

  If you need your passport in less than 2 to 3 weeks, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply in person at the U.S. Department of State.
